Inside Voice is made by WarpBoost. This policy explains what the app does with information on your iPhone or iPad. In short: Inside Voice has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no servers. Nothing you do in the app is sent to the developer.
The microphone
During a Quiet Session, Inside Voice uses the microphone to measure how loud the room is. The sound becomes a loudness number a few times a second and is discarded right away. Inside Voice does not record audio, does not recognise words or voices, and does not identify who is speaking. No audio is saved on your device or sent anywhere.
What stays on your device
Inside Voice keeps a small amount of information on your device so the app works the next time you open it:
- your situations, such as Dinner, and the volume level you chose for each;
- your preferences, such as the reminder sound;
- the latest recap for each situation: when the session started and ended, how many reminders played, how often the room calmed down again, how many seconds the room spent in each loudness range, and the feedback you gave. A recap holds no audio and no timeline of the room's sound, and a new session replaces the situation's previous recap;
- how many free sessions you have used, and whether you bought lifetime access.
This information stays on your device. Your device's backups, such as iCloud Backup, may include it, depending on your backup settings. Deleting the app deletes it from your device.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. The developer does not receive your name, email address or payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to your App Store purchases.
Apple Watch, Lock Screen and Live Activities
Inside Voice can show a session on your Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island and on a paired Apple Watch through Apple's system features. These run on your own devices; Inside Voice sends nothing to a server.
Beta testing
If you test Inside Voice through TestFlight, Apple shares the feedback, screenshots and crash reports you choose to send, along with basic tester and device information, with the developer under Apple's TestFlight terms. They are used only to improve the app.
Children
Inside Voice is meant to be set up and used by parents and caregivers. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers, and loads nothing from other sites. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard request information, such as your IP address, to deliver and protect the site.
Future versions
If a future version of Inside Voice ever offers anonymous usage statistics to help improve the app, it will ask you first. Those statistics will never include audio, sound levels, situation names or anything about your children, and this policy will describe them before that version is released.
If the app changes hands
If Inside Voice is ever sold or transferred, the new owner takes over the app and this policy. Because Inside Voice keeps your information on your own device, no information about you is handed over with it. Any change to how the app handles information will be described here before the version that makes the change is released.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Questions: hello at getinsidevoice dot com.
